Voluntary time in Turkana County (Kenya) with Learning Lions

Spend between one and three months in one of the most remote areas of East-Africa mentoring a team of young adults on their way to become entrepreneurs on the global digital market. Built up a relationship to bright African minds, and enable them to have a successful career, without having to leave their home region. Apart from a live changing experience you will receive free full board and lodging and live with us in our ICT Centre in Lodwar.

We look for volunteers, who:

  • Have skills in web Development, programming, graphic design, animation, film or music and want to use those skills to help others
  • Can commit to at least one month (ideally three or more)
  • Are able to mentor a small team of at least five bright young minds
  • Have strong knowledge in one area, with the ability to troubleshoot problems that the local team might encounter
  • Are ready to live in simple living conditions
  • Are willing to experience a completely different culture on the other side of the world



Jan (26) joined Learning Lions in January 2017. An economist by education, he has been experimenting with websites and graphic design since he was 12 years old. He is currently mentoring our webdevelopers to help them make their first steps on the global IT markets.


Alex (27) joined Learning Lions in January 2017. Working as an art director for a full-service marketing agency in Germany, she shares her professional experience with our graphic designers. Always having an eye on the details, she manages to help develop the program further into a successful direction.
